French fries may not be the healthiest food, but the healthiest way to enjoy them is definitely to oven-bake them. These french fries are lightly coated with oil and not deep fried. The oven takes a bit longer to cook them, but they will be well worth the wait!

Oven-Baked French Fries
Ingredients:
Potatoes, any kind. Half the fun is making different flavors and shapes with a variety of potato types!
Olive Oil
Salt
Optional: Seasonings and herbs like sage, basil, garlic powder, cheddar cheese, Parmesan or chili pepper.
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
Wash the potatoes and inspect for imperfections. Cut out dark spots or cuts along the potatoes. No need to peel the potatoes, most of the nutrients reside in the skin.
Slice potatoes lengthwise into strips as wide as you want. The beauty of making your own french fries is being able to choose between steak cut fries, shoestring or both!
Toss the sliced potatoes lightly in oil and place on a greased baking sheet. Add salt and optional seasonings.
Bake for 30 mins, stirring every 10 mins or so. Remove when crispy and golden brown.
