It rained hard the other day so it felt like the perfect time to dive deep back into winter with grilled cheese sandwiches, warm tomato soup and oatmeal cookies! I (shockingly enough) had never tried making oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and after devouring most of these tasty morsels in one sitting, I was glad I did!!
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
¾ of a cup of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 stick of softened butter
¼ of a cup of white sugar
¼ of a cup of brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon of water
1 cup of quick-cook oatmeal
½ cup of chocolate chips
Warm up your oven to 375 degrees and grease a baking sheet.
Mix together butter, sugars, egg and water in a large bowl.
Add the flour, baking soda and stir until fully mixed.
Add the oatmeal and chocolate chips.
Make small balls of dough and bake them for 10 minutes. They should be squishy.
The trick is to let them cool for a few minutes after the come out of the oven-they’ll sink into a sticky, gooey delicious cookie. Enjoy!
