This month’s Turntable Kitchen Pairings Box would have been great for the dead of winter! Luckily for me, it’s been 60 and sunny and seems like an early Spring.
One of my favorite things about subscription service Turntable Kitchen is access to all of the music and mixtapes online since you’ve been a subscriber. I can access all the curated mixes and download zipfiles so I can enjoy this great music all the time. Matthew, the music editor of Turntable Kitchen does a fantastic job of finding music that pairs perfectly with an evening of fine dining, or just for putting you in a great mood.
This month’s box was a collaboration between Turntable and Shelly West of Vegetarian Ventures. She had some great things to say about the recipes!
Turntable Kitchen: February Summer Camp Dreaming Box
The February Pairings Box theme is: Summer Camp Dreaming
Here’s what came in my Pairings Box:
Hand-Pressed Record: Deaths, “Lonewolves” and “Sold”
I’ve been hearing this track bounce around Turntable’s webpage mp3 player and I liked it a lot.
Turntable describes it as:
“gorgeous and viscerally textures with a surprising seductiveness and enchanting intensity.”
Perfect for Valentine’s Day! My record is hand labeled # 354 of 520 created.
Premium Ingredient: Szechuan Salt and Pepper
This ingredient made my whole box smell amazing! I can’t wait to add this to fried rice for an awesome twist of flavor!
Recipes:
This month’s box theme is childhood classics and dreaming of summer camp. The recipes are an adult twist on familiar favorites.
1. Three Bean Sloppy Joe
2. Pistachio Salt and Pepper Baked Onion Rings
3. Boozy Dark Chocolate Strawberry Soda Float
My pairings box also includes a card with instructions on how to download this month’s digital mixtape.
I love receiving such awesome recipes and music each month. Try Turntable Kitchen’s Pairings Box for yourself!

This is a very cool idea regarding combining two of my favourite things — food and music — through Turntable Kitchen. Thank you, Aquaberry Bliss, for blogging about this!

I realize there’s a reblog choice at the top of the page, but I’ve never done it before and am not sure about etiquette. (As far as asking before re-blogging.) I think this is such a cool idea, though, that I’d like to reblog it on my page. May I do so?

What a fabulous idea! Are all the recipes vegetarian?

This month’s recipes were because they paired up with a vegetarian company. They pair with different people each month so they aren’t always vegetarian. They do send the spices though which are vegetarian so you could tweak the recipes to include mushrooms instead of meat etc and it would still be delicious! Thanks for reading!

I’m very much enjoying your blog, Elizabeth! Yes, I am used to “tweaking” things for my vegetarian dishes. Wishing you all good things ~ Lisa
