After seeing tons of viral marketing and hullabaloo about the Dollar Shave Club, I finally decided to try it for myself.
For “A Few Bucks a Month” (options are $3, $6 or $9 a month including shipping,) you get razor refills and sometimes a free sample shipped right to your door. Razors are hard to pick out and easy to forget to purchase, so this seemed like a good idea. The razor needs in our household are very minimal so we chose the $3/month option.
So far, the blade and handle are pretty sturdy, and the shave wasn’t bad. We even got a free sample of Shave Butter.
Many people say the Dollar Shave Club isn’t worth it because they are cheap razors and are imported from abroad. However, many of the Gillette, etc products are also cheap and imported. So….
Dollar Shave Club is not just for men, razor blades are unisex! Girls won’t find any pink blades or marketing messages that target them though, which honestly is appealing to me.
Since we likely won’t be using all 4 blades a month, Dollar Shave Club may only be worth it for a few months. I do like the convenience and the fun of subscriptions boxes, they’re like a present for yourself each month.
Go ahead, try it.

Thank you for reading! I was skeptical too at first but so far I think it’s a pretty good deal. I’ve heard the quality may not be the best, but I think the simplicity definitely fits my lifestyle.
