Wonder of The World: Visiting Stonehenge

My visit to Stonehenge in rural England was humbling and inspiring. As an archaeologist, I was fascinated by the monument and had always wanted to visit the location.

The New Age Spiritualist in me was also craving a trip to the magical site. I had heard of stories of New Age Druids coming to Stonehenge seeking spiritual rejuvenation, peace and a inner-transformation experience.

Seeing Stonehenge in all its original and reconstructed glory is well worth taking a guided tour. We were provided with maps and photos of the original reconstruction, which was amazing because it was night and day between the photos and the rubble ruin before me. Continue reading

Have you ever been ziplining? I went for the very first time in Fayetteville, North Carolina at a place called ZipQuest. I stopped here during a road trip down the East Coast and I’m glad I made the stop!

Playa Gigante, Nicaragua

Just returned from my honeymoon in Nicaragua! A non-traditional honeymoon destination, I went on this trip seeking peace and relaxation.??????????????????????

Landing in Managua reminded me of landing anywhere in Mexico, with lots of green trees and patches of farmland. It also looked just like Belize, where I spent the last summer on an archaeological project. The trees looked the same but in Belize the locals speak English, not Spanish. My woodsy paradise is located just two hours away from each Seattle and Portland. Elma, Washington is a sleepy, small town.We get to go camping there by the river just about as often as we can.
