3 Creative Ways to Stay Active While Traveling

Traveling is an exhausting activity, so it can be hard to remember to stay active while on vacation. In between lying on a beach or visiting landmarks, there are many creative ways to stay fit, whether you’re vacationing within your own country or abroad. Here are 3 creative ways to stay active while traveling.

3 Creative Ways to Stay Active While Traveling

  1. Choose Walking Tours or Use Public Transit

Rather than taking a car ride around the major landmarks, try opting for a walking tour. In addition to getting extra activity in, you’re sure to see some local spots that would be inaccessible by car. You never know what small hole-in-the-wall locations you might find when you wander in a new city!

Taking public transit also usually means walking more and experiencing some of the local culture. You’ll find out what day to day life is like and help support the country’s infrastructure.

  1. Bring Packable Workout Gear

Many people don’t bring gear or workout aids from home on their vacations since they require precious suitcase space; packable gear is a must. The FXP Hula Hoop is a great option because it collapses and easily stows in your bag or under a seat, making it a perfect creative option to stay fit while traveling.

Hula hooping is no longer just for kids! The schoolyard game gets a grown-up makeover with the FXP Hula Hoop. Weighted to ensure resistance during a workout, you’d never know hula hooping required so much body attention, balance and cardio. Not only will you break a sweat, but you’ll have a ton of fun and workout muscles you haven’t worked out since you hula hooped as a kid. Doing something silly and fun raises your endorphins and lowers stress.

  1. Explore the Great Outdoors

Take a step outside your hotel room and check out what the local flora and fauna is like in your vacation destination. Go on a nature walk or drive out to the countryside for a day. It’s interesting to visit farming or rural areas abroad to see what types of food is local and view what production is like there. Some of the most beautiful places in the world are outside cities, sparsely populated and deep into nature.

  1. I quite enjoyed your blog post! Although I don’t get to travel that often, when I do, I like to go in search of the great outdoors. One such example is Lake Marburg. I have enjoyed going to the Marina and seeking out the locals who like to fish on the lake. There is a nearby park that has trails to walk and you can even go horseback riding! In fall, the leaves are so beautiful! During the summer, along with the fishing, there is also a pool available for swimming – which is also a fun way to get in some physical exercise!
