The weather’s getting warmer and it’s time for camping season! In preparation for spending nights outside in nature, make some of these natural bug repellant lotion bars and forgo store bought bug repellants that contain deet and other unwanted chemicals. Plus, the lotion will hydrate your skin!
Natural Bug Repellent Lotion Bars
Ingredients:
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup grated cocoa butter
1/4 cup grated beeswax
1/4 tsp lavender oil
1/4 citrus oil
In a small pot over low heat, melt beeswax, coconut oil and cocoa butter. Stir until melted then remove from heat.
Add essential oils and stir.
Pour into silicon molds. Fun shaped ice cubs trays from Ikea are good to use.
Store in the fridge until hardened. Once hardened, you can store up to six months in an airtight container.
Take a few in a small airtight container on a camping trip to keep the bugs away from you!
Happy Camping!
