Now that the Holidays are over, what decorations will you put up? How about Winter Snowflakes? We’ve all made paper snowflakes in class during elementary school, or with your children and they can be a fun way to add fun to a cold winter lull in between the Holidays and Valentine’s day. Snowflakes make tasteful and beautiful winter decorations, are simple to make and like a real snowflake, no two are the same! Here is a simple way to make winter snowflake decorations just in time for the snow to start falling.
Winter Snowflake Decorations
What You’ll Need:
Scissors
White paper (or blue! Snowflakes can be festive in any color)
Imagination
Fold a piece of white paper in half as many times as you want, feel free to create any shape because no two snowflakes are alike!
Fun fact: a standard piece of paper can’t be folded in half more than 7 time-try it!
Make diagonal, circular, oblong, or simple cuts into the folded piece of paper. Experiment with different shapes and see how making cuts at different angles changes the final shape of the snowflake.
There is no right or wrong way to make a snowflake, everyone’s will be different. Tape the snowflakes up outside your door, in your living room or on your windows to add festive cheer to the cold winter. I like to put these up after Christmas and holiday decorations have gone down to have something fun and exciting in the dead of winter before people start decorating for Valentine’s Day.
